The farm site was selected following strict criteria including favorable altitude, ample rainfall, suitable temperature patterns, fertile virgin forest soil, mature native trees and intact coffee ecosystem. Nestled beside Gori Gesha Forest in remote western Ethiopia, the area is recognized as the original birthplace of the iconic Gesha lineage, which has been widely cultivated globally ever since. The Oma Block is named after a revered local spiritual leader beloved by indigenous residents.

*Gesha 1931: Gesha is a scarce, distinctive and high-priced cultivar commonly associated with Panama, yet its commercial cultivation only began in the 1960s. Gesha 1931 takes its name from the year and location when scientists first collected the variety during an Ethiopian research expedition to catalogue indigenous coffee cultivars.
