About farm:Blanca and Juan married and raised fourteen children; they were sent to work and live on the Potosí Farm. In 1945, Juan introduced Yellow Bourbon, Red Bourbon and Caturra varieties alongside the existing Typica, and the legendary Granja La Esperanza was founded. As time passed, their children helped with farm work from an early age. The farm maintained abundant yields for decades. Among the family, brothers Rigoberto and Luis developed a deep passion for coffee farming. Beyond Potosí Farm, the family acquired another farm in Trujillo — La Esperanza Farm — to expand organic coffee production. In 2007, Rigoberto travelled to Panama to manage the Finca Calleida farm, and won the Best of Panama competition the following year. He later brought Geisha seeds back to Colombia, ushering in a new era for the farm. Today, Granja La Esperanza focuses on the cultivation and sales of specialty coffee varieties. Despite challenges including varietal terroir adaptability and intense global competition, their coffees continue to earn wide acclaim for flavour. The farm remains dedicated to continuous innovation and breakthroughs. |
