About farm: Finca El Porvenir is an independent farm acquired by Camilo, the green bean manager of Venka, in Colombia. Nestled in the cloud forest belt of the Colombian Andes at 1800 masl, the farm benefits from naturally fertile volcanic black soil and diurnal temperature variations, creating ideal conditions for coffee cherries to ripen slowly. The Gesha trees on the farm are over a decade old. Using single-plant cultivation for micro-lots, the coffee merges Gesha’s signature jasmine floral and bergamot notes with the tropical fruit sweetness unique to Colombian terroir. The farm practices eco-friendly agriculture with 100% shade-grown cultivation. It achieves carbon neutrality via coffee pulp composting and water recycling systems. At the 10th Colombia Coffee Quality Competition “Land of Diversity” auction in 2025, El Porvenir’s honey-processed Gesha won awards in four out of five major categories: 1st Place – Best Acidity 2nd Place – Best Balance 3rd Place – Best Smoothness 3rd Place – Best Unique Flavor |
