Ahout station：Established in 2014, the Bochesa processing site is set at an extreme altitude of 2,200 meters in Arbegona, a remote district in the Sidama highlands. Its remarkable elevation and unique geographical isolation yield exceptional cup clarity and complex flavor profile, transforming what was once a loosely defined growing community into a renowned specialty terroir. With thirty years of coffee export expertise, modern color-sorting technology, and a dedicated 30,000 sq ft processing facility, Tracon Trading acquired the Bochesa station two years ago. The collision of rigorous micro-lot processing and high-altitude microclimate propelled this Bochesa lot, exported by Tracon, to the top spot in the Taste of Harvest (ToH) competition organized by the African Fine Coffees Association (AFCA). Crowned 1st Place in the 2026 Regional Natural Category, it perfectly showcases the vibrant floral and fruity aromas paired with exceptional sweetness characteristic of high-altitude Sidama coffee. About process: Ripe cherries harvested here undergo meticulous hand-sorting before being slow-dried in the sun on African raised beds for about 21 days. Once the sugars deep inside the fruit pulp fully absorb into the beans, they are hulled, stored, and exported in standard 30kg sacks. |
