About farm: Las Margaritas sits adjacent to Pozo Farm at roughly 1800 masl in the Caicedonia hills, covering 34 hectares of coffee planted on steep mountain slopes with diverse cultivated varieties. Managed across three family generations, successive generations bring new cultivars and innovative farming concepts. Moving beyond conventional fully washed processing in recent years, the estate pioneers experimental lots of rare varieties and leads local industry trends. Their progressive innovation traces back to the mid‑2000s, when the family team traveled to Panama to advance their knowledge of agronomy and coffee processing. *CGLE‑17: A crossbreed of Gesha and Caturra developed at Granja La Esperanza in 2017. The cultivar features robust pest and disease resistance, a cup profile reminiscent of classic Gesha, yet delivers considerably higher crop yields. |
