About farm: Alasitas Estate, planted in 2014, is located in a lush valley near Caranavi, Bolivia, at the gateway to the Amazon. Named after the Aymara word meaning "buy me," it honors the Andean festival of Ekeko, the god of abundance, where locals purchase miniatures of their desired wishes. Established as a model farm to teach local growers modern agricultural techniques, it is one of the family’s largest estates, featuring a "casita" (little house) at its summit surrounded by Geisha plants, with stunning views of the jungle. The name symbolizes reciprocity and the hope for abundance, and the farm grows coffee varieties including Geisha, Java, Red & Yellow Caturra, and SLs. |
