About farm: El Porvenir is an independent farm acquired in Colombia by Camilo, the owner of Venka Green Coffee. Nestled within cloud forest zones of the Andes Mountains at up to 1800 masl, the fertile volcanic ash soil and prominent diurnal temperature difference create ideal conditions for coffee cherries to ripen gradually.
Gesha trees planted on the farm are over ten years old. Utilizing micro-lot single-stock cultivation techniques, the coffee harmonizes iconic Gesha jasmine floral and bergamot notes with deep tropical fruit sweetness distinctive to Colombian terroir. The farm practices ecological agriculture under 100% shade cultivation, and pursues carbon neutrality via coffee pulp composting and water recycling systems.
During the 10th Colombia Cup of Excellence “Land of Diversity” auction held in 2025, honey-processed Gesha from El Porvenir claimed the auction champion with a record bid of USD 105.50/lb.

*Light Fermentation Natural Process:
Fully ripe red coffee cherries are harvested and re-sorted manually. Cherries undergo 24 hours of tank fermentation followed by 24 hours of natural oxidation in open air. They are pre-dried on raised beds for roughly 4 days, rested inside sealed sacks for another 4 days, then slowly dried for around 25 days to complete the process.
