About farm: Gedeb Woreda sits at the southernmost tip of the major traditional Yirgacheffe growing zone, and it is also the region with the highest planting altitude. Its average elevation exceeds 2,000 meters, well above the roughly 1,700 m average altitude of Yirgacheffe town. The coffee trees here are at a healthy age of 10–20 years old, presenting unparalleled advantages compared to the ageing coffee trees in other parts of Yirgacheffe. Built in 2020, the Guzguz Tatatu Wet Mill has an annual processing capacity of approximately 1,000 tons of fresh coffee cherries, yielding around 150 tons of green coffee. Similar to several well-known neighbouring micro-regions, coffees from the Tatatu Wet Mill showcase typical flavour profiles of citrus, rose floral notes and bright fruity acidity. |
