About farm: In the early 19th century, the Castro-Jimenez family from Costa Rica and the Kahle family from Germany, who settled in Chiapas, Mexico, jointly established a coffee business. Alejo represents the fifth generation of the Castro-Kahle family, which has been cultivating coffee on the slopes of Poás Volcano in central Costa Rica for over 100 years. To this day, the descendants of this family continue to uphold and enhance their quality principles, while also protecting natural resources by acquiring and expanding into pristine rainforests—further increasing the value of conservation. The estate has taken numerous actions to reduce air pollution and combat global warming. |
