About farm:Silvia Marina Estate was acquired by the family in 2017. At the time, the land had suffered from severe nutrient depletion. Over the following seven years, the family undertook an extensive ecological restoration project, rebuilding the farm’s ecosystem and restoring the land to support coffee cultivation. The estate is named in honor of Silvia, the producer’s mother, who took responsibility for managing the family’s coffee operations following the passing of her father, the founder of Kotowa. Kotowa Coffee was recognized as Best Producer at the Best of Panama (BOP) competition in 2014 and 2016. More recently, Silvia Marina Estate achieved 10th place in the Washed Geisha category at the 2025 Best of Panama competition, demonstrating the farm’s commitment to quality and continued progress.
